In our previous article, we provided a detailed introduction to the industry-specific models within Topstar’s TTWP and TTOP mould temperature controller series. In addition to these specialized units, both series also offer standard versions. Standard mould temperature controllers are more versatile and widely applicable, making them suitable for most applications. The standard TTWP series covers three temperature ranges: 120°C, 160°C, and 180°C, while the TTOP series offers a 200°C option. If your industry does not impose specific, unique equipment requirements, we recommend starting with the standard versions.

Comparison of the TTWP/TTOP Series Standard Mould Temperature Controller

The 120°C water-type mould temperature controller is designed for compact, efficient operation in standard applications. The 160°C and 180°C water-type controllers utilize more powerful pumps and advanced separation technologies to extend performance capabilities into higher temperature ranges. The 200°C oil-type mould temperature controller is suitable for high-temperature applications where oil is the preferred heat transfer medium.

TTWP 120°C Water-Type Mould Temperature Controller: Ideal for Compact Factory Layouts

The TTWP 120°C is one of the most practical choices among standard mould temperature controllers. One of its greatest advantages is its compact structure and small footprint; it also offers both indirect and direct heating, making it ideal for manufacturers with limited workshop space. This compact design not only saves space but also facilitates easier positioning in proximity to injection moulding machines. From a performance perspective, the 120°C mould temperature controller is suitable for a wide range of standard injection moulding applications. It is typically well-suited for general plastics processing tasks that require stable temperature management, efficient utilization of factory floor space, and simple daily operation.

TTWP 160°C Water-Type: Featuring a Cooled Shaft Seal Pump

As production demands rise, many manufacturers require greater temperature control. A key feature of the TTWP 160°C mould temperature controller is its use of a cooling shaft seal pump, which offers superior durability and longevity compared to standard shaft seal pumps. This cooling shaft seal pump enables the unit to operate more reliably at high temperatures, thereby reducing the likelihood of failure during continuous operation. In a production environment, pump durability directly impacts equipment uptime and maintenance scheduling. The 160°C model belongs to the same water-cooled series; while extending the temperature range, it retains the practical advantages associated with water-based circulation systems.

TTWP 180°C Water-Type: Stable and Reliable Operation

The TTWP 180°C mould temperature controller features a seal-less magnetic-drive pump, effectively eliminating seal wear issues commonly found in traditional pump designs. It also incorporates a built-in gravity-type gas-liquid separation tank to remove air bubbles from the system, thereby ensuring more stable and reliable operation. For liquid-level detection, the unit uses a solid Teflon float ball, which significantly reduces the risk of malfunction. Accurate liquid-level detection enables the mould temperature controller to maintain a highly stable operating state, preventing unnecessary alarms. For buyers, this model represents the premium tier of water-type mould temperature controllers particularly well-suited for manufacturers who require enhanced mould temperature control performance without deviating from a water-type platform.

TTOP 200°C Oil-Type: Ideal for High-Temperature Injection Moulding

The TTOP series constitutes the oil-type offering within our standard product line. It delivers stable, high-temperature control in applications where water-type systems are unsuitable. One of the key advantages of the TTOP series is its stainless steel casing, which offers exceptional corrosion resistance and is easy to clean. Furthermore, we have incorporated interlocking and wedge-lock structural designs to simplify maintenance; routine servicing can be completed by removing just 3 to 6 screws. Compared to traditional designs that require more complex disassembly, this approach makes maintenance significantly faster and more convenient. The TTOP series also features a pump equipped with a cooled shaft seal, offering superior durability compared to standard sealing mechanisms. The combination of these design features results in a unit that boasts both exceptional durability and outstanding corrosion resistance.

Common Components Across the TTWP and TTOP Series

A major highlight of the Topstar Standard Series design is the interchangeability of its components. Heaters are available in two power ratings: 8 kW and 12 kW, and are fully interchangeable across all standard water-type mould temperature controller models. Additionally, the control systems for all standard-series models are interchangeable. Furthermore, the pumps used in the 160°C and 180°C water-type models are also interchangeable. This high degree of compatibility offers greater flexibility for factory maintenance and service operations. If a workshop operates multiple controllers, interchangeability can save time and simplify procurement.

Durable Design of Standard Mould Temperature Controller

Topstar’s standard series offers two heating modes: indirect and direct. The indirect heating mode features a heater that does not come into direct contact with water, allowing us to offer a three-year warranty. The direct heating mode utilizes a copper heating element, extending its service life by approximately 40%. The entire product series features a one-piece cast structure, combined with a design utilizing single-sided welding and double-sided forming processes; this approach minimizes the number of weld seams and significantly reduces the risk of water leakage. Fundamentally, these design methods ensure that fewer weld seams mean fewer potential weak points, and fewer weak points translate into superior long-term stability.

Mould Temperature Control for Most Common Applications

Our standard TTWP and TTOP series offer most buyers a reliable, easy-to-maintain, and durable solution. The TTWP 120°C model features a compact design, making it ideal for environments with limited space. The TTWP 160°C and 180°C models expand upon these capabilities through an improved pump design, efficient gas-liquid separation, and stable operation at higher water-based temperatures. The TTOP 200°C model is specifically designed for high-temperature, oil-type applications, offering exceptional durability and ease of maintenance.
